Organisations reminded about grant application deadline
Community organisations looking for money for capital projects have just over a week to apply to the Far North District Council for a grant.
The Council has $200,000 available to groups across the District for capital projects in the fields of community sport, recreation and culture.
The scheme complements the local Community Grants Fund administered by community boards.
Deputy Mayor Tania McInnes says the Council has received just one application since it called for applications in December, but is hoping for more before the closing date of 30 January. She says projects will need a business plan and will have to show community support, including fundraising for their project.
Applicants need to be legal entities, while organisations that receive high levels of government funding or provide welfare services are not eligible.
Application forms are available from council services service centres or on the council’s website www.fndc.govt.nz
